From a talent standpoint Kobe is much bigger, better ball handler, and creates his own shot off the dribble much better. Classic sports has shown many old games from the 1960s and West would dribble left with his right hand. He would get ripped even by college players in this era dribbling to his left with his right hand.

Kobe is also much better operating from the post with a arsenal that consist of the fadeaway going right, or the opposite direction. Kobe has better footwork, and up and under moves from the post.

Kobe also plays in a much tougher era for his position. Just imagine Kobe in the 60s against unathletic 6-3 shooting guards weighing 190 pounds. He would post them up, and shoot over them with ease. Now put West in this era with 6-8 wing players (cat quick) and he can't dribble with his left hand. He would get ripped and be used as a come off screen shooter.

Kobe also has 5 rings. And when ppl say well he had Shaq and Gasol. Magic Johnson had arguably the most talented team in NBA history, and so did Larry Bird. So if Kobe's titles dont count neither should Bird or Magic. Kareem and James Worthy up front. You had better win with that.

You guys are idiots. You're trying to compare Kobe to what "you think" West would do in this era? And then you want to take Kobe, with all of the modern day benefits, and drop him in the 60's?

No wonder you think kobe is better. Only a moron would.

Hope this helps

it is unfair to evaluate their rookie seasons. Kobe became into 18, West became into 22. there's a extensive distinction bodily between those 2 a while. while Kobe became into 22, he averaged 28.5 factors, 5.9 rebounds, 5 assists. additionally, Kobe has made a number of All-protection communities. in fact, Kobe holds the record for guards for many All-protection communities. You made a stable argument for West, yet I nevertheless think of Kobe is greater advantageous. a lot of human beings might call Kobe the superb participant of the 2000s, yet very few human beings concept West became into the superb participant of the 60s, even with there being much less opposition.

Jerry West was a good player, not amazing but noticable... He was known for being the posterchild of Sportsmanship but compared to Kobe Bryant, Mr. Bryant is better all around.... Remember Jerry West himself surrounded Kobe with great players because he's the GM of the Lakers so you can't use that excuse.
