Question:
note to all GMs: how to build a winner?

forget about summer 2010: dwyane wade, lebron james, chris bosh, amare stoudemire are decent, even great players. but you don't need them to be a serious contender. look at the spurs and the pre-iverson pistons. superstars are overrated
if you are an expansion or rebuilding team with ample caps

1. throw all the $$ you can at paul millsap this summer. even if boozer opts out, i doubt jazz would want to pay millsap top $$. if booz doesn't, then jazz simply don't have the $$ to keep 2 top power forwards

2. give ramon sessions a lucrative multiyear contract. don't bid against yourself. but make sure you have the best offer on the table than ramon simply can't refuse. ramon will be the starting point guard

3. sign allen iverson to a huge 3 year contract and make him your starting 2 guards. stay away from jason kidd, lamar odom, shawm marion, mike bibby, andre miller, and ron artest unless the price is right (around 10 million when no one else wants them) it is likely that you can land one of them.

4. now you have the building blocks to build around. sign ruben patterson to be the defensive stopper (bruce bowen type), salim stoudamire to be the spot-up shooter off the bench. sign bonzi wells from china to fill out your bench. wait for someone to buy out steve francis' or starbury's contract. invite antoine walker, raef lafrentz, eddie jones, damon stoudamire, and juwan howard for a tryout

5. sign tarence kinsey, chris andersen, walter herrmann, stephen graham, and leon powe. they are highly underrated. pick up jamaal magloire or zaza pachulia or stromile swift on the cheap. ditto for flip murray and brevin knight

6. sign darius miles. he can block shots and score

7. try to lure grant hill in as your starting SF

8. stay away from ben gordon

9. sign chris wilcox when no one wants him. same for joe smith to add size

10. quinton ross can be the 15th man

obviously you won't get everyone i listed but the key is to pick up the cornerstones: millsap, sessions, iverson/kidd/artest/bibby/marion/andre miller/odom and mix them up with proper supporting casts consisting of potential sleepers or productive, solid veterans that are often overlooked

this is a contender

the Spurs have the best PF to ever play the game and 2 other players who have been All Stars in Ginobili and Parker.

1.I agree with you there, Boozer is leaving and Milsap could be an All star someday if he keeps improving.

2. I like Sessions and agree with you

3. 100% disagree. Do not re sign Iverson, let his contract go and Rasheed's and now u have a ton of Cap space to work with and its time for Detroit to semi-rebuild, Hamilton already signed a 4 year deal so why sign iverson and Sheed to longer contracts that would mean you have 3 30 year old or older players on long term contracts. Not smart at all.

4. Ruben Patterson is old and cant defend like he used to, steve francis already was bought out from his contract, he is on Memphis I think.

5. terrance Kinsey doesnt even get off the bencg in Cleveland hardly, i agree with the other players though

6. agree, except he is a cancer as well and nobody likes his attitude

7. depends on who you have at SF

8. If Ben GOrdon comes off bench then I say go for him. He is a great scorer and could help any bench out.

9. I agree

2010 is needed, Detroit wants Bosh and they need a low post scorer, cause sheed is gettin old and he averages about 12 ppg in the last few years. Bosh wants and needs a bigger market.

Wade is staying

LeBron is Staying

Stoudemire is leaving

From experience, its important to ask. If you don't you'll end up obsessing about whether or not she likes you, and that's not healthy or a very flattering trait for anyone. My suggestion to you is to just ask her. Most girls actually think it's cute when guys are nervous about such things. I am deff. one of those girls and i'm 19. Don't hide your nervousness and act all macho. Being Cocky can work but over doing it will just make you look like a jerk. WHen you ask her be confident in yourself but at the same time don't hid the fact that she makes you a little nervous and that knowing her answer is important to you because she is someone special for you. Having courage does not mean that your not nervous so don't think that nervousness is a character flaw. Own it and make it work for you.

So in other words, you want a team full of Role Players and No superstars? Thats absurd. I see where you are going with this, but you need at least one star player on your team.
