Who do u guys think is the best overall basketball player in the NBA right now?

Tim Duncan. 4 rings. 2 MVPs. 3 finals mvps. and 1st team all defensive 7 or 8 years in a row. He is also probably the best power forward to ever play the game. There are a lot of great players out there, but he is the most complete out of all of them.

Standing 6'8" the kid can shoot the three, nail the mid ranged jumper, drive on you like an 18 wheeler, dunk on you n make you cry, he can also defend and pick your pocket before you knew what hit you. He is overall the best player in the game. Duncan, is a PF/C he will lose miserable 1 on 1 vs LJ. Steve NASH???? yes he's a great PG but the guy would lose 21-5 in a game of 21 vs LJ lol... KOBE is up there as a candidate but LJ is more talented and still has a LOT of room for improvement.. LJ in about 5-6 years will be in his prime.. Too hard to say he will be as good as Jordan, but judging what he did to the Detroit Pistions this year in the playoffs.. the Kid is unstoppable

pg: Jason Kidd - He can score(13 per game) , best passer in the league, rebounds(8.2 per game), plays defense (2 steals per game career average), averaged a tripple double for the entire playoffs( not even Magic did that).



sg: Kobe Bryant - can score (#1 in the leage past two seasons), ball handles, can score in or out anywhere on the floor at any time (81 points second highest in a single game), plays defense (all nba first and defensive first teams), can hit the big shot and take over a game better than most ever.



sf: Shawn Marion - He can score, shoot, is very atheletic, have you ever seen a small foward rebound like him (10 per game for career), phenomenal defensively (2 steals per game for career and 1.6 bloks per game the past three seasons).



pf: Kevin Garnett - Yeah I know what about Tim Duncan right? K.G. gives you everything Duncan does and then some. He scores more 22.4, 12.8 rebounds (led league past 4 seasons). Duncan never led the league in rebounds as great as he is. Not only does he give you 1.7 blocks for his career but he averages 1.5 steals as a powerfoward. He's a phenomenal passer averaging 4.5 assist career and has averaged 5 or more assists per season six times (6 per game 2002-2003 season).



C: Pau Gasol - led all west centers in points, rebounds, and assist. 20.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.4 assist (4.6 last season). He has a nice touch on his shot and can hold it down in the post. He is also a terrific defender aaveraging 2.1 blocks per game. He can do it all ; scores at 53.9 percent from the field, rebounds, passes well, and plays d. what more can you ask for.



Kobe to me is the complete package. He scores against the best defenders, can shoot, plays d, can take over at will, and hits the big shots.

If you mean complete payers i would say Kobe bryant,Tim duncan(except for free throws),Chauncy billups,maybe jason kidd(not a so good shooter),kevin garnett(but weak in the clutch).As for the rest lebron has a weak jumper and defence,so does wade and carter(fires a lot too),Nash also has an inept defence,Arenas is also weak on defence,Shaq is slow and not much of a defensive player,Dirk is soft,weak int the pivot and lacks clutch killer move.Carmelo plays little defence also.T-mac is soft,plays little defence and is injury prone.

Combine his ability to shoot, drive, dish, pass, and dish again and you'll notice that no one can compare. Look at Phoenix before and after Nash. Practically the same team except for NASH. Before, under .500 and missed the playoffs by a long shot. After, they have the highest winning percentage in the last three years combined.
