Sometimes there are two franchise players such as Stockton and Malone who were playing great together for years but I dont agree you can say Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer are similar to Stockton and Malone yet. It is still need to be proven.

My take is as follow:

Utah Jazz - in the future: Deron Williams. I believe he will actually become the leader of this team. Carlos Boozer is great but he is no Karl Malone. Deron Williams on the other hand has the potential to be one of the great PG. He is not an all star today but he will be in years to come.

Houstan Rockets - Yao Ming: He is the dominant center in NBA right now that should allow him to be the Franchise Player instead of T-Mac. T-Mac is great but he is no longer in his prime. Yao is.

Atlanta Hawks - no one yet; Josh Smith a possibility in the future. I believe A Franchise Player should come from a team that is doing well (play in playoff for few years at least). This year, Atlanta could play in the playoff but they need few more years to prove. And I believe Josh Smith will be the Franchise Players. Joe Johnson is good but Josh Smith is a monster on both ends. He has more contribution to team success.

Chicago Bulls: No one yet - they are still a collection of good players; No one really dominates yet to become a Franchise Player; Many people nominate Loul Deng or Ben Gordon but both is still relatively inconsistent. Lets wait another few years.

New York Knicks - No one yet - again a very bad team so cant comment until they improve their overall play and winning record.

For the Jazz it has to Deron Williams, young PG, makes other teammates, incluiding Boozer better.

For Rockets, they thought it was TMacs, but it should be Yao Mings team because as a big man and their best player regularly and does more for them.

Hawks are Joe Johnson, even though you never hear about him.

Bulls was tought to be Ben Gordon or Loul Deng, neither one stepped up, so no leader or franchise.

Knicks, hmmmmm Marbury comes to mind which is sad if you think about it.

1. Deron Willliams/ Carlos Boozer- the imitation of Stockon and Malone.

2.Yao Ming. Period.

3. Al Horton and Josh Smith

4. Ha Ha. Maybe Ben Gordon. To me none of the players in the bulls

5 I got to laugh again. None for the Knicks.

well there is no rule that every team has to have a franchise player,

but of those teams my best bet would be:

Jazz= Deron Williams/Carlos Boozer

Rockets = Yao Ming/T-Mac

Hawks=Joe Johnson/ Josh Smith

Bulls=Luol Deng/Ben Gordon/Kirk Hinrich

Knicks=Stephon Marbury/Nate Robinson/Jamal Crawford
