Ive been seeing different things being said..while Jeff Green and Brandon Bass are still signed..question is..what kind of affect did the surgery have on Green..in Seattle/OKC..JG was known as a humble well rounded player..he could dunk, decent mid range and could knock down a few 3s..on defense..he played equally well..in my opinion..he is/was too small for PF..but was able to play that position because of his B- defensive skills..and was able to play SF because of his B+ offensive skills..but just like Derrick Rose..I doubt we will see that same Jeff Green..if he opts in to play next season..Id love for him to..but IDK. Brandon Bass for Big Baby..this was one of the trades made last season that I was excited about..however Big Baby has proved to become a scorer in Orlando which was surprising..but I still like Bass..very similar to Jeff Green..he is a undersized PF who can sometimes play at Center..this season was somewhat of a breakout season for him..I expect to see him as a Celtic for a long time..IMO..Rondo and Bass are the future for the Celtics. Now, I have heard rumors about RayRay either retiring, coming back(if KG stays), or going to another contender(if KG leaves)..I think Ray Allen would be a perfect fit for the Orlando Magic or the Chicago Bulls..I heard he was thinking about Miami(if he went there..IMO it would tarnish his career..but of course this is a rumor) and Knicks(I dont think it would be good for him to go to the knicks..Pierce is a decent passer..Melo doesnt like to share the ball)..and the Clippers(i think it might be good..he could fill the void of Chauncey) I think if Ray went to Chicago..it will take pressure off of Rose(if he returns)..it would also help younger players like Watson and John Lucas. Best fit of all though is Magic..if Ray Allen properly fills the SG position(something J Rich and others fail to do)..Orlando Magic will be a dangerous team..Dwight doing it big in the middle..then Ray Allen and Ryan Anderson from outside..how could any NBA team stop that offensive onslaught?! There was talk of beef between Ray and Rondo this season..if it were true..Id have to say Rondo was in the wrong(hes been a bit outspoken this season)..BUT, i also side with Rondo. If Ainge picks either of the big 4 to leave..and it';s out of Rondo or Ray..no offense..but Ray should get the axe. It's easier to find shooters than it is to find someone who can do what Rajon Rondo can do. Unforturnately..we cant trade Pierce(he is what cost us the lost in postseason)..but hopefully we can get an upgrade at backup SF..I think if KG stays..and continues at Center..our needed positions will be 1. backup Center, 2. backup SF 3. backup SG..if Allen goes and if we cant get Austin Rivers..we should go after Kevin Martin. Trade Dooling and Pavolivc..get Ersan Ilysova..trade Daniels and get Gerald Henderson
So starters would be:
C-Kevin Garnett(Also will play PF at times)
PF-Brandon Bass
SF-Paul Pierce
SG-Avery Bradley(will also play PG sometimes)
PG-Rajon Rondo
Bench:
C-Stiesma(I think he has potential)/Hollins
PF-Ersan Ilysova(play SF sometimes/Sean Williams
SF-Mickael Pietrus
SG-Gerald Henderson/Kevin Martin
PG-Nate Robinson
If these were the changes made for next season..do you think this team would be a championship caliber team next season?..I think so..still got 3 7 footers..we got defense specialists in Henderson, Pietrus and Williams..Ilyasova can grab rebounds and is a great shooter..Nate Robinson is signed at a low price..and he was great during his short Boston stint. Kevin Martin along with Nate is offensive fire power off the bench.
