Advice on buying a basketball hoop?

I'm 14 years old and am getting my 1st basketball hoop, in order to get some serious practice in. I'm going to be using the hoop extensively and daily. My father has given me a $400 dollar budget to work with, though I may be able to bargain up to $600. I need a durable, portable, easily adjustable, basketball hoop. The hoop will be placed on the curb of the street and I'll play on the street. Advice on what to look for and how to find good prices and whether or not to buy online or go to a sporting goods store. ex.. ***** Sporting Goods

Specific recommendations would be a great help.

Thanks

Well you should google it but since I play a lot you defintly dont want a backboard that is NOT glass or strong plastic if you get a thicker backboard it will throw you off completly.
