Question:
Why do people even go to Clippers games? Are they actual fans or is it because they can't afford Laker tickets?

Seriously, me, myself, and a lot of other people wonder why are the Clippers still a franchise. Seriously, I was in a Sports bar one time, and one random person said that he thinks that the Clippers should become a NBA-Development League team, or join the Canadian Basketball League, overall, just cease to exist!!!, because why bother existing if you are never going to, in Sports you play to win the game, you don't play to just play it, just like what that NFL Head Coach Herman Edwards said. So why do people even go to Clippers games? isn't there way too many other good things to do in L.A. instead of watching a team lose year after year? Look at the Clippers right now, they are 1-13 even with Blake Griffin playing, that is nothing new to them, losing is an annual tradition for the Clippers. Do people go to Clippers games just to see the visiting team since they can't afford Laker tickets? or do most people who go to Clippers games are they actual fans? As for other teams, I know that the Raiders have been horrible for the past 7 years, and many other Pro Sports teams have gone through years of Futility, but at least the Raiders and a lot of other teams used to be good, the Clippers never have been.

You're right, teams play to win the game. However, businesses exist to make money. That's the dichotomy of professional sports teams. Being profitable is often at odds with winning. The Clippers owner has decided it's more important for him to make money then for the team to win, so he keeps expenses and salaries as low as possible.

People don't go to Clippers games because they can't afford Lakers tickets, it's because they can't get Lakers tickets. There are a ton of NBA fans in LA, and the Lakers sell out every home game they play. Some of those fans would rather go watch, say, Clippers vs Celtics, then not see a live NBA game as well.

Lakers seasons tickets; you can't even buy em' outright. 100 bucks to get on the waiting list. They don't really tell you how much they cost if you are to get them. Clippers season tickets? I think someone will answer the phone right now. And even I can afford them. So his lack of research didn't really hurt him.

No franchise should be put to pasture due to failing results. I don't really understand that sentiment. There are actual clippers fans; though in more cities than you think, people have season tickets just because they are basketball fans in general.

You couldn't trade but 2-3 NBA Franchises for ANY NFL Frachise. It'd be a pretty sad trade. I really feel am missing something when it comes to your logic..

I can really understand why they struggle though... being in the West for quite some time they've felt pressed to draft bigs, 4's and 5's. Michael Olowakandi, Keith Closs, Lamar Odom, trading for Elton Brand, Darius Miles, Chris Kaman, Blake Griffin, Chris Wilcox, Marvin Ely... When only like 4-5 drafted big men have actually panned out in the past decade or so.

Miss those picks then you're bad, so you have to overpay on guys like Baron Davis so you don't go 2-80 or anything. Really they're just a little snake bitten, but is their fate really worse than 60% of the league? The Suns and Mavericks aren't exactly winning titles left and right either. The TWolves? Grizzlies? Hornets? Golden State? Utah? Do these teams have any rings? Only twice have one of these teams won the conference championship in the past 25 years(Not all of them are 25 years old, though they've played a lot of basketball with little to show).

I don't think being a Clippers fan would be that bad, nor would being a Lakers fan be that great(I really don't enjoy that whole celebrity atmosphere they got there, 'cept Jack. Jack is the man). Parking is easier, tickets are gettable, teams usually are pretty fast and up-tempo. The players PLAY to win the games. Us fans? We have but minimal effect on the outcome of any game. We watch for a distraction. Win or lose, watching some young athletes who would still crush any of us(Or any D-League/Canadian)on the court play a sport we love sounds like a nice evening.

Personally, I don't watch for the W. I watch because I love basketball. Clips fans, show your red white and blue. Their title will be the sweetest. Maybe they won't win it in my lifetime. But I could die tommorow, so that doesn't mean anything. They'll turn it around some day; law of averages. If the Arizona Cardinals can make a Superbowl, truely, in the words of KG "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!".

Clippers have some good, exciting players. They have a lot of new fans with Blake Griffin's play.

Lakers are great, but only a wealthy fool would pay what they ask now for tickets.

Watch them both on TV, I say.

I'm sure most people in L.A. would care less if the Clippers left town, it's just that Sterling likes L.A. this article says it all:http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1018960/5/index.htm

Those two rookies are fun to watch...

Anyway, yeah I agree, the Clippers maybe better off in another city, maybe Seattle or Las Vegas?
