Question:
Why isnt Miami coach starting James Jones or Eddie House instead of Arroyo?

Lebron and Wade are both good ball handlers and passers. The Heat needs someone who can hit three's consistently to open the floor for Lebron and Wade. They don't need a playmaking point guard when Arroyo considering Lebron and Wade aren't great outside shooters like Ray Allen.

Exactly the same thing I'm wondering. Arroyo starting at PG is completely useless as D-Wade and Lebron are the ball-handlers and he's not a 3-point shooter. It would be better for them to move Lebron to PG( He is most effective with the ball in his hands and does most of the ball-handling), move James Jones into the starting line-up, and let Chalmers/Arroyo/House battle it out for the back-up PG minutes. Lebron-D-Wade-Jones-Bosh-Anthony is their best line-up. If they keep Lebron at SF there won't be enough minutes for both Jones and Miller(when he comes back) to be effective. Miller would serve as sixth man by splitting minutes at SF with Jones and backing up D-Wade at SG.

They should just put Wade down at the PG, Lebron at the 2, and bring in Jones at the SF. They have plenty of veterans and playmakers to come off the bench so I'm not worried about them struggling for that sixth-man spark. Arroyo is nothing more than a backup point guard which they don't even need right now with all those shooters and guys that can handle the ball themselves like Wade and James.

The coach seems stubborn to make lineup changes. But Arroyo and Anthony are clearly bad fits as starters. They need a 1 who can shoot well from the outside and play good D. Arroyo does neither. And at the 5, Anthony can't do anything at either end. He's a bum.

Sad thing is no one provided even a logical answer... Except Baller 15

If they start House or Jones, then who's going to provide the spark off the bench? Arroyo isn't an offensive threat really, so he's in there with the starters to level things out, and when they sit down, they bring in sparkplugs like House and Jones.

exactly.some one who can hit 3s consistently and nothing else.that is the definition of a good bench role player.all you are asking for those two players is hitting threes and no D.i think im ok with Carlos defending a PG rather than Eddie or James Jones starting.they can't really defend but i think Carlos can defend better than them

I agree.

I think the coaches are too dumb to figure that the Heat don't need a true PG. They need Shooters.
